Unit3 My friends (A) Let’s talk

【教学目标】

1.   The students will be able to read,say,listen and write the words below:  strong,friendly,quiet

2.   The students will be able to read,say,listen and write the phrasestall and strong,short and thin, a new friend,a Chinese friend

3.   The students will be able to communicate with the words and phrases correctly.

4.   The students will be able to introduce their friends in English.

【教学重点】

1.   The key words in this lesson.

2.   How to describe one’s friends.

【教学难点】

1. The usage of the words:his / her .

2. The meaning and the usage of the words: quiet,friendly,strong.

【教学准备】

     PPTword cardsthe headwear of John and his mother.

【教学过程】

Step I. Warming up

1. Let’s sing the song. “Good morning to you!”

2. Greeting and self-introduction.

T: I’m your new English teacher today. I’m fish. Let’s swim and have a PK in this class. OK?

Step II. Lead in

T: Look at the pictures , her name is Chen Jie. Her name is Sarah.They are my friends. Oh! What’s his name? What’s her name ?

S1:His name is Zhang Peng.Her name is Chen Jie. They are my friends.

T: Look at this picture. What’s his name ? And who is she?

S2:His name is John. She is John’s mother. They are my friends.

T: Ok! Today we will learn Unit3 My friends , Part A, Let’s talk.

Step III. Presentation

1.Review the words : tall , strong, thin, short

T: Look at the pictures, they are my friends.Look, he is very        .

S1:He is very tall.

T: Look at this picture.

S2: He is very short.

T: Look at him.

S3: He is very strong.

T: Oh! Look at that boy.

S4: He is very thin.

T: Can you read these words?

2.Learn the phrases: tall and strong, tall and thin, short and strong, short

and thin.

T: Let’s look ,say and act.

The students look at the phrases and read them together.

T: Let’s play a game.I have four cards. You can take one ,and act it out. The other students in your group will guess “tall and strong”or “tall and thin”.

3.Let’s learn the dialogue.

T:Look! What’s his name ?

S1: His name is John.

T: Who is she?

S2:She is John’s mother.

T: They are talking now. Let’s listen and watch.Before watching ,I have a question:Who is John’s friend ?

4.Let’s watch and understand the dialogue.

Watch the video and answer the question.

T:Who is John’s friend ?

Students: Zhang Peng.

5.Learn to read the dialogue and choose the best answer.

a. Read after the video.

b. Little teachers’ show.

c. Choose the best answer.

Exercise1: Zhang Peng is a Chinese / American boy.

Exercise2: He is tall and strong / short and thin.

Step IV.Practice

1.   Read and fill in the blanks on the PPT.

2.   Practise the dialogue in pairs and show.

Step V.Consolidation and extension.

1.   Read the phrases and match the correct pictures.

2.   Read the dialogue and guess “Who is she/he?”

3.   Pair work :make a new dialogue for the other two friends.

Step VI.Summary

1.   Let’s chant after the video.

   Boys: I have a new friend.

           He is a boy.

Girls: I have a Chinese friend.

          She is a girl.

Boys:  He is tall.

Girls:  She is short.

Boys: He is strong.

Girls: She is friendly.

2.   Let’s review with the mind map on the blackboard.

T: Who can retell the dialogue with the mind map?

S1: I have a new friend. He is a Chinese friend. He is strong and tall. He is friendly.

Step VII.Homework

Homework: 1. Listen and read the dialogue.

2. Draw a picture of your friend and introduce him or her to your father

and mother.
